A few creative science projects:
The Unwanted Guest
It started with a bite.
Itching, scratching, fretting
Trying to remain calm with all his might, Poor Jerry was
now the host of an unwanted guest But the little maggot wouldn't give it a
rest.
With two anal hooks the parasite burrowed itself in
Squirming and stirring every time Jerry went for a swim, The botfly inflicted
pain from within.
But soon things changed,
And the guest was no longer unwanted
Why, that giant goose egg on Jerry's head became
something he flaunted.
With pride he showed the world his guest Who had been
growing quietly inside its humble little nest.
The pair soon grew to be the best of friends Leaving
Jerry to dread the day it all ends.
But one fateful night at a baseball game, Things began to
change - never to be the same.
The botfly larva squirmed, inching it's way out And when
Jerry realized what was happening, He began to pout.
Gone were the days of carrying his friend in his head, A
botfly free life was what Jerry had grown to dread.
So ends the tale of Jerry's intimate relationship with
nature, A heartwarming piece about the clash of binomial nomenclature.

Great to see the girls' artwork and projects. I'd recognize Maddy's drawings anywhere!
